WIKI LOVES MONUMENTS

Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photography competition dedicated to documenting and promoting cultural heritage sites around the world.
The 2026 competition in Serbia will take place from 1 to 31 October. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of their photography experience.
By uploading freely licensed photographs to Wikimedia Commons, participants help document Serbia’s cultural heritage and make it more accessible through Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
How to participate
- Create or log in to your Wikimedia Commons account.
- Find an eligible cultural heritage site in Serbia.
- Take a photograph or select one from your personal archive.
- Upload the photograph through the official competition form between 1 and 31 October 2026.
- Add the name and identification number of the cultural heritage site.
- Publish the photograph under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
Competition rules
- The photograph must be your own work and must be uploaded by you.
- Photographs may have been taken at any time, but they must be uploaded during the official competition period.
- Photographs already uploaded to Wikimedia Commons before the competition are not eligible as new submissions.
- The photograph must show an eligible immovable cultural heritage site in Serbia.
- The name and identification number of the site must be provided.
- Digital editing must not mislead the viewer.
- Participants must have a confirmed email address linked to their Wikimedia Commons account.
- Photographs deleted from Wikimedia Commons or found to be ineligible will not be considered by the jury.
Eligible sites
Eligible subjects include registered monuments of culture, spatial cultural-historical units, archaeological sites and landmarks included in the official competition lists.
Judging and prizes
After the competition, a national jury will select the ten best photographs. The selected photographs will represent Serbia in the international Wiki Loves Monuments competition.
Details about the national prizes, jury members and the announcement of the winners will be published before or during the competition.
Copyright
Only photographs created by the participant may be submitted. Images copied from websites, social media, institutions or other sources are not allowed.
All submissions must be published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.
